Meliá Pattaya

Meliá Hotels & Resorts expands Thai portfolio with a new 5-star offering in Pattaya

Located a short drive from Bangkok on the Gulf of Thailand’s east coast, Meliá Pattaya has opened its doors, honouring to the city’s rich cultural diversity while offering breathtaking sea views. Thailand has been crowned a ‘top emerging destination’ for 2025 by global travel network, Virtuoso, following a remarkable 63% increase in bookings last year. In addition to the sun-drenched Lay Beach Club overlooking Pattaya Beach, Meliá Pattaya offers a range of amenities from a soon to be unveiled rooftop restaurant with sky bar, a swimming pool with an adjacent bar and function lawn, Meliá’s signature YHI Spa, the Kidsdom kids’ club, a state-of-the-art gym, to a collection of versatile meeting spaces—all designed to foster both relaxation and productivity.

Home to 218 rooms and 16 suites, the hotel offers a diverse selection of accommodations ranging from Deluxe Sea View Rooms featuring window-side sofas to take in the beauty of Pattaya to The Level Premium Sea View Room and the Presidential Suite, both boasting exceptional views of the Gulf’s azure waters. Of this portfolio, 18 rooms and 16 suites belong to ‘The Level’, an elevated luxury experience offering guests personalised services and benefits including access to ‘The Level Lounge.’

From the moment guests step inside, they are immersed in Thai culture, with a lobby and lounge inspired by the renowned Nong Mon Market. Design elements take cues from Khao Lam, – a traditional sticky rice dish roasted in bamboo – reflected in the textured surfaces throughout the space. The hotel’s prime location offers easy access to top attractions including Pattaya Beach, where guests can unwind on soft sands and swim in crystal-clear waters. Young travellers are well catered to with an array of engaging activities including an ‘under the sea’ themed kids club designed to mirror the famous the wreck dive site at Koh Pai Island.

The property’s diverse dining venues pay homage to the city’s vibrant markets, sacred shrines and the longstanding Chinese communities of Chonburi. Perched on the rooftop, Yitong Chinese Restaurant and Sky bar is the perfect spot foe guests to take in Pattaya’s golden sunsets and soak up every drop of vitamin D whilst savouring authentic Cantonese cuisine infused with Sichuan flavours. Specialising in locally sourced seafood, the all-day dining restaurant Sanehh Sarae brings the rich heritage of Bang Saray fishing village to life. Just next door, guests can indulge in Den, the hotels Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei restaurant, a tribute to Si Racha’s ‘Little Japanese Town’ and the influx of Japanese expats during ‘Thailand’s 3.0’ economic era of industrial growth and exports.

“Meliá Pattaya Hotel is part of AWC’s mixed use The Aquatique Destinations Pattaya project and a flagship project of our strategic roll-out of the Meliá brand in Thailand, aligned with AWC’s Lifestyle Destination,” said Mrs Wallapa Traisorat, Meliá Pattaya Hotel’s owner and AWC’s CEO and President. “Meliá Pattaya Hotel will redefine luxury hospitality in one of Thailand’s most iconic beachside destinations, reflecting AWC’s commitment to be part of strengthening Thailand as global sustainable destination.”

Melia Pattaya was launched by Spanish hotel group, Meliá Hotels International and is owned by Thailand’s leading integrated lifestyle real estate group Asset World Corporation (AWC). This luxurious 5-star hotel is the fifth Thai property to join the portfolio, further strengthening Meliá’s growing presence in key destinations across Thailand, following the successful openings of Meliá Koh Samui in 2020 and Meliá Chiang Mai in 2022.
