Putting that theory to the test, guests dining at Contour, the hotel’s all-day gastro lounge, can indulge in an aphrodisiac tasting menu throughout February, with dishes such as Oysters Rockefeller, Duck Confit and Pickled Jalapeno Slaw, designed to get loved-up couples in the mood.

To celebrate love on-screen and off, Contour’s expert mixologist has concocted a menu of cocktails inspired by the movies that have put the city on the map as a destination for romance. The menu includes Love Me Love Me Not, a cocktail made up of mezcal, pomegranate liquor, fresh lemon and local honey and Cupid’s Hope, a vodka-based cocktail with flavours of cranberry, cherry and vanilla.

Exclusively for Valentine’s Day, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park is putting on a wine and chocolate truffle pairing experience to tantalize the palate with powerful flavour combinations. In order to find the sweet spot, wines and chocolates are paired according to intensity, beginning with lighter chocolates and wines before evolving to darker, richer and more intense flavours. Each of the wines has been carefully selected according to the flavour profile of chocolate truffles crafted by the talented chef Andrew Burriesci.
